Social media platform X appears to be down for thousands as some users complain of being unable to post.
Others who are still able to use X, although say spaces and some posts are not coming through, are fearing the platform has been hit by another cyberattack. Although Elon Musk or X are yet to confirm this. Reddit is also having issues this evening, with reports of ‘errors‘.
One user said: “X is currently down and no one is able to post, like, retweet, bookmark, or comment.”
Another added: “X is currently down for millions right now. Spaces are glitching. Posts aren’t refreshing. Mine is acting up as well. So don’t think it’s just you. It’s happening to many of us.”
Musk’s much loved DogeDesigner also weighed in commenting: “X is down for thousands of users and is reportedly under a cyberattack.”
Downdetector also confirmed user issues, highlighting thousands, not millions, were having issues with X.
The X outage comes just weeks after Musk confirmed the site had been hit by a “massive cyberattack”.
He said at the time: “There was (still is) a massive cyberattack against X. We get attacked every day, but this was done with a lot of resources. Either a large, coordinated group and/or a country is involved. Tracing …”
Musk would later address his claims in more detail during a TV interview on Fox business television.
The 53-year-old said: “We’re not sure exactly what happened but there was a massive cyberattack to try to bring down the X system, with IP addresses originating in the Ukraine area.”
