Madison Booker has been the heart of Texas women’s basketball‘s success in her first two collegiate seasons.

As a freshman, Booker helped lead the Longhorns to the Elite Eight. With another win against No. 5 seed Tennessee on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. from Legacy Arena at BJCC in Birmingham, Alabama, No. 1 seed Texas could advance to the same round again this season in the 2025 women’s NCAA Tournament.

Booker scored 20 points in the tournament’s first two rounds in wins over William & Mary and Illinois on 17 of 29 shooting. Booker had a double-double with 14 rebounds in the first-round victory.

As a sophomore, Booker averaged 16.4 points on 46.7% shooting from the field and 42.4% from 3-point range, along with 6.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.6 steals per game in 35 games during the 2024-25 season.

Here’s a look at Booker’s stats through her first two years in college with Texas:

  • 2023-24: 16.5 points per game (45.7%), 5.0 rebounds per game, 5.0 assists per game, 1.5 steals per game in 37 games (37 starts)
  • 2024-25: 16.4 points per game (46.7%), 6.8 rebounds per game, 2.8 assists per game, 1.6 steals per game in 35 games (35 starts)

Booker was born on April 29, 2005, which makes her 19 years old. Booker is not yet eligible for the WNBA draft as league rules require domestic entrants to be at least 22 years old during the year the draft occurs. The player must have no remaining college eligibility or renounce any future college eligibility.

Booker is listed at 6-foot-1 on Texas’ official women’s basketball roster.

Booker was the No. 12 overall player in the 2023 recruiting class and the second-rated wing, according to ESPN HoopGurlz Recruiting Rankings. She attended Germantown High School in Ridgeland, Mississippi. Her father, Carlos Booker, played collegiate basketball at Southern Mississippi.

She signed with Texas over Duke and Tennessee but included Florida State, Louisville, Oregon, South Carolina and UConn in her top nine.
