The Sweet 16 of Women’s March Madness rolls on today with the NCAA tournament’s biggest remaining star.
That would have been JuJu Watkins of Southern California, who finishes off today’s slate of games. But the All-American and Player of the Year favorite tore her ACL in USC’s second-round game. That leaves UConn’s Paige Bueckers as the biggest name in the tournament, and the way she’s started, it’s no wonder she’s entering the WNBA Draft.
If both win today, the Trojans and Huskies will meet Monday for a place in the Final Four next week in Tampa. The other games of the day involve another pair of All-Americans: Hannah Hidalgo and Notre Dame take on TCU, while Madison Booker and Texas face Tennessee.
Both editions of the Elite Eight will take place Sunday, with the women getting started and the men punching their final tickets to the Final Four.
