PITTSBURGH STEELERS
Pittsburgh Steelers
Mike Tomlin has never had a losing record in the regular season as head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers. His playoff record, especially recently, is a bit spottier.
Tomlin took over the Steelers‘ head coaching job in 2007 and won a Super Bowl one year later. He took Pittsburgh to another AFC title two years after that but ultimately fell short of a second championship in his first four years.
More recently, playoff success hasn’t come quite as easily for Tomlin’s Steelers. Since 2016, Pittsburgh has made the playoffs four times, not including this year. The team did not win a game in any of those postseason appearances.
Tomlin and the Steelers will be looking to break that streak on Saturday night when they take on the Baltimore Ravens in the wild card round.

Tomlin has become known for his track record of success in the regular season. Since he took over as the Steelers’ head coach in 2007, the team has never finished a season with a losing record.
In the playoffs, Tomlin’s Steelers have had a more up-and-down track record. Pittsburgh made two Super Bowl appearances – and won one of them – in the first four years of Tomlin’s tenure.
In recent years, playoff wins have been harder to come by. The Steelers haven’t won a postseason game under Tomlin since 2016 despite earning a playoff berth four times in the seven seasons since. They’ll have their work cut out for them to break that streak when they travel to Baltimore to face the Ravens and MVP candidate quarterback Lamar Jackson.
