The No. 14-ranked Tar Heels (26-6, 13-5 ACC) are the top-scoring defense in the ACC this season, allowing 57.6 points per game. However, the No. 23-ranked Seminoles (23-7, 13-5) enter averaging 88.2 points per game on offense. Both teams lead the conference in their respective categories.

To win, the Tar Heels must shut down the nation’s leading scorer, Ta’Niya Latson. The junior is averaging 25.4 points per game to lead the explosive Seminoles‘ offense. Latson had 25 points and seven assists on 10-of-22 shooting in FSU’s 86-84 win over UNC on Jan. 26, which included a game-winning shot at the buzzer.
UNC snapped a two-game losing skid by outscoring Boston College by seven points in the fourth quarter to win 78-71 over the Eagles. Lexi Donarski led the way with her 20 points and five 3-pointers. This marks UNC’s third quarterfinal appearance in the tournament in four years.

The Tar Heels lead the all-time series with the Seminoles at 21-14, though UNC has lost three in a row in the series. Its last win over FSU came on Feb. 20, 2021, in a 64-49 win in Tallahassee, Florida.
