The final leg of the Florida Swing is also one of the final chances for someone to snag a coveted Masters invite. The 2025 Valspar Championship concludes Sunday on the Copperhead Course at Innisbrook.

Golfweek’s Adam Schupak recaps Viktor Hovland’s win
Viktor Hovland tamed the Snake Pit, making birdies on two of the final three holes to edge Justin Thomas by one stroke and win the 2025 Valspar Championship on Sunday in Palm Harbor, Florida.
Hovland closed with a final-round 4-under 67 at Innisbrook Resort’s Copperhead Course to win for the seventh time on the PGA Tour and first time since 2023.
Read the complete recap here.
Viktor Hovland earns seventh PGA Tour win
Hovland bogeyed the last but it was enough to clinch the 2025 Valspar at 11 under overall for his seventh PGA Tour victory. Justin Thomas finishes solo second at 10 under. Hovland did have to sweat out Jacob Bridgeman, who birdied the 17th to get to 9 under. A hole-out eagle on the par-4 18th would tie Hovland and force a playoff but he could not pull that off.
Hovland’s seven PGA Tour wins are tied with:
- Keegan Bradley
- Webb Simpson
- Mark Brooks
- Gardner Dickinson
- Bill Glasson
- John Huston
- Peter Jacobsen
- Billy Maxwell
- Dick Mayer
- Gil Morgan
- Johnny Palmer
- Scott Simpson
- Joey Sindelar
- Bert Yancey
- Chandler Harper
- Clarence Clark
- Clarence Hackney
- Harry Vardon
- Retief Goosen
Justin Thomas bogeys the last to finish 10 under
Thomas was up three shots briefly seemingly just minutes ago but a bogey on the 16th and a bogey on the 18th dropped him to 10 under, two shots back of Viktor Hovland. He sprayed his tee wide on each of those holes. That leave Hovland needing to simply take no worse than bogey on 18 to seal this victory.
Viktor Hovland birdies 16, 17 to take one-shot lead
Hovland has birdied the first two holes of the Snake Pit, the 16th and the 17th, here on Sunday, the second birdie taking him to 12 under and giving him a one-shot lead over Justin Thomas, who’s playing the 18th hole.
Justin Thomas bogeys, Viktor Hovland birdies and Valspar is tied
A two-shot lead for Justin Thomas is gone, just like that. Thomas got to 12 under after consecutive birdies but made bogey on the 16th while Viktor Hovland birdied the 15th, knotting the two up at 11 under late Sunday. Jacob Bridgeman is hanging around, as he’s two back with three to go. Bud Cauley and Billy Horschel are done for the week, tied for fourth at 8 under.
Justin Thomas takes two-shot lead into the Snake Pit
Thomas made a second consecutive birdie on the par-3 15th to get to 12 under, giving himself a two-shot lead with three to go. The Snake Pit awaits, but Thomas has given himself some cushion with seven birdies and zero bogeys on his card.
Billy Horschels posts 67, eyes top-five finish
Horschel produced the shot of the day earlier Sunday and after a pair of late birdies, he was creeping up the leaderboard, but four straight pars to end his round, cooled off his run. Nonetheless, he signed for a 67 and walked off the course tied for fourth. His best finish in 2025 is a tie for ninth at the 2025 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. He’s in line to register his second top 10 in 10 starts this season.
Ryo Hisatsune joins a five-way tie atop leaderboard
Japan’s Hisatsune, playing in his 40th PGA Tour stop, has joined the fun at 8 under, alongside Bud Cauley, Billy Horschel, Viktor Hovland and Justin Thomas. A five-way tie for the lead on the back nine on Sunday. This is going to be fun.
Justin Thomas forges tie for the lead
Thomas caught fire Saturday with a 65, still the best round of the week at the Copperhead Course. Midway through Sunday’s final round, JT has caught the leaders, getting to 8 under to tie Viktor Hovland and Bud Cauley.
Thomas has three birdies on his front nine. Meanwhile, Bud Cauley has also joined the fun. He’s seven holes ahead of Thomas and Hovland but he has five birdies and no bogeys through 15 holes.
Viktor Hovland birdies two of first three to take solo lead
Hovland birdied the first and then the third to break a six-way logjam for the lead at 7 under and is now at 9 under as he continues his quest to end his slump.
Billy Horschel pulls off amazing left-handed shot, makes birdie
Billy Horschel reminded us yet again that these guys are good on the PGA Tour.
Shane Lowry, Jeremy Paul join crowded lead on leaderboard
Lowry and Paul each birdied their first two holes Sunday to get to 7 under and forge a six-way tie for the lead.
The Valspar had a three-way tie for the lead after 54 holes, the biggest collection of co-leaders after three rounds on the PGA Tour so far in 2025.
Xander Schauffele goes low on Sunday
Schauffele, who extended his active cuts-made streak Friday at 60, has birdies on Nos. 5, 6, 11, 12, 13 and 14 and had climbed into the top five at 5 under, two back of the leaders who hadn’t yet teed off.
But he would bogey the 15th and par in from there to shoot a 5-under 66, a nine-shot improvement over his 74 on Saturday.

Sunday’s weather forecast
16th hole at the Copperhead Classic has some bite
No. 16 at Innisbrook’s Copperhead Course for the Valspar Championship among them. The 475-yard par 4 plays to a diagonal fairway angled to the right, with water down the entire right side off the tee. The tee shot is to a fairly narrow ribbon of fairway, and any golf ball fired too safely away from the water is likely to hop through the curving fairway into high grass or trees. It’s the hardest hole on the course.

Did you miss the dunked ace from Sam Ryder?
During Saturday’s third round, Ryder pulled off one of the rare feats in the sport. It’s not just that he made a hole-in-one, but how me made it.
