Tracy Morgan Posts Photo from Hospital, Speaks Out After Scary Medical Incident at Knicks Game

Tracy Morgan shares an update one day after his courtside medical incident at the New York Knicks game.

“Thank you for all your concern! I’m doing ok now and doctors say it was food poisoning,” the 30 Rock alum, 56, shared on Instagram on Tuesday, March 18, alongside a photo of himself in a hospital bed giving a thumbs up. “Appreciate my MSG family for taking such good care of me and I need to shout out the crew that had to clean that up. Appreciate you!

“More importantly, the Knicks are now 1-0 when I throw up on the court so maybe I’ll have to break it out again in the playoffs 😅 #goknicks,” he added.

Morgan became ill during the New York Knicks’ game against the Miami Heat at Madison Square Garden on Monday, March 17. Attendees claimed on X that the comedian vomited, while others alleged that he had a bloody nose. One image appeared to show him vomiting onto the floor. Another social media video saw the Saturday Night Live alum being taken away in a wheelchair as he held a towel over his face.

As a result of his medical incident, the game was delayed in the third quarter for roughly 10 minutes.

The emergency came one year after he marked the 10th anniversary of surviving a near-fatal auto accident. In June 2014, a Walmart truck crashed into his limousine from behind while on the New Jersey Turnpike. Authorities said that the Walmart truck driver hadn’t slept in over 24 hours and if he hadn’t been speeding, would have been able to stop his vehicle before impact and the crash would have been preventable.

Morgan’s collaborator and mentor, James McNair, was killed and others were injured. Morgan suffered a broken leg and was in a coma for two weeks after the accident. The comedian was in a wheelchair for five months and, later, had to relearn how to speak and walk.

“I want to say to everyone who was in the van with me that night I love you, and we miss you, Uncle Jimmy Mac and God bless your family,” Morgan told PEOPLE in June 2024. “And to the driver that night and his family, me and my comrades forgive you.”

Last month, Morgan attended SNL50, a celebration of Saturday Night Live‘s 50th anniversary. He even appeared in sketches during the show.

“This is incredible,” Morgan told actor and comedian Matt Rogers during the SNL50: The Red Carpet special on Feb. 16. “Just thank the Lord that I’m a part of this, that I survived the accident and I’m alive to be here for this.”
