NCAA TOURNAMENT
Texas Christian Horned Frogs Women’s Basketball
TCU‘s Cinderella story continues.
The Horned Frogs went from hosting open tryouts and forfeiting games due to injuries and player shortages last season to earning a No. 2 seed in March Madness this year following many transfer portal additions such as Hailey Van Lith. The 2025 women’s NCAA Tournament marks TCU’s first March Madness appearance since 2010 and the team’s highest seeding in program history.
“I think it’s the greatest story going on in college basketball — men or women,” TCU coach Mark Campbell said Wednesday. “To go from 1-17, forfeiting games, holding open tryouts (last season) to the best season in school history. It’s like a Disney movie.”
The Horned Frogs defeated No. 3 Notre Dame, 71-62, in its first Sweet 16 game in program history and will face off against No. 1 Texas in its first elite Eight appearance. Here’s a look at the full TCU women’s basketball roster:

No. 10 Hailey Van Lith stats
It might be TCU’s first Elite Eight appearance, but Hailey Van Lith has been here before. Van Lith is set to appear in her fifth Elite Eight, becoming the first player in NCAA history to lead three different teams to the regional finals. Van Lith set TCU’s single-season record for points scored (663 points) and single season assist record (202 assists) this year, averaging 17.9 points, 4.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists in 37 games. The veteran guard is coming off a game-high 26 point (10-21 FG, 2-5 3PT), nine-rebound and four-assist performance in TCU’s Sweet 16 win over Notre Dame, the most points she’s dropped in all five of her career Sweet 16 appearances.
Van Lith started her collegiate career at Louisville (2020-23), leading the Cardinals to the Elite Eight twice (2021, 2023) and the Final Four (2022) during her three-year stint. Van Lith transferred to the reigning national champion LSU Tigers in April 2023, but the fit didn’t pan out well. She experienced a drop in her scoring volume and efficiency, posting a career-low shooting percentage (37.8%) and averaging only 11.6 points per game, an eight-point drop from her 2022-23 season average in Louisville (19.7 pts).
Instead of declaring for the 2024 WNBA draft, Van Lith cashed in her fifth and final year of eligibility and transferred to TCU, where she’s had a renaissance season. Van Lith was named Big 12 Player of the Year and the Big 12 Newcomer of the Year, shooting a career-high 46.0% from the field. She powered the Horned Frogs to their first regular season title, first conference tournament title and first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2010, with the team’s highest seeding in program history.
No. 13 Sedona Prince stats
Prince spent her first three seasons at Oregon (2019-22). Prince went viral for highlighting the disparity between the men and women’s March Madness facilities in 2021. She sat out the 2022–23 season due to a broken elbow and transferred to TCU for the 2023-24 season. Prince is averaging 17.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists, in addition to 3.1 blocks per game, which marks the fourth-highest in the nation. She recorded 21 points, six rebound and four assists in TCU’s Sweet 16 win over Notre Dame. Prince has scored double figures in five of her six career NCAA Tournament games.
No. 2 Madison Conner stats
Conner is averaging 14.6 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.6 rebounds in 37 games this season, shooting a career-high 44.8% from the field and a career-high 45.5% from three, the seventh highest in the nation. Conner played the first three seasons of her collegiate career at Arizona (2020-23) before transferring to TCU in 2023. Her career-high is 41 points, which she dropped against Tulsa in December 23.
