The Kansas City Chiefs failed to three-peat on Sunday, Feb. 9, after facing off against the Philadelphia Eagles, once again, in Super Bowl LIX. The Eagles were ultimately victorious, defeating the Chiefs 40-22.
The action in New Orleans was going on all week, but kick-off for the actual game at the Caesars Superdome was at 6:30 p.m. EST on Sunday. Things began with performances of the national anthem by Jon Batiste; “America the Beautiful” by Trombone Shorty and singer Lauren Daigle; and “Lift Every Voice and Sing” by Ledisi.
Of course, Taylor Swift was at the game to cheer on boyfriend Travis Kelce and the Chiefs, alongside her pal Brittany Mahomes, whose husband Patrick Mahomes is the team’s star quarterback. For Philadelphia, stand-out players include beloved quarterback Jalen Hurts and running back (and Sunday birthday boy!) Saquon Barkley.
At halftime, Kendrick Lamar delivered an electrifying performance of his award-winning hits, alongside special guest SZA.
And between all the action, there was the can’t-miss commericals — PEOPLE tracked those live, as well.
Follow along here for all the action and live updates on the game, performers, ads, celebrity attendees and more during the 2025 Super Bowl.

Though Kelce skipped the post-game Super Bowl pressers on Sunday, Mahomes was asked about the tight end’s NFL future, as many speculate retirement is on the horizon.
“I’ll let Travis make that decision on his own,” said Mahomes. “He’s given so much to this team and the NFL and been such a joy, not only for me to work with, but for people to watch and he knows he still has a lot of football left in him and you can see it.”
Sad Mahomes of Kelce: “He always makes plays in the biggest moments . . . I know he still has a love for the game and he’ll get to spend some time with his family and make that decision on his own.”
