A single-engine propeller plane crashed in a residential part of a Minneapolis suburb on Saturday afternoon, engulfing at least one home in flames, according to the Federal Aviation Administration and videos on social media.
The F.A.A. said the plane took off from Des Moines International Airport and was headed to Anoka County-Blaine Airport in Minnesota when it crashed at 12:20 p.m. in Brooklyn Park, Minn., a city of about 82,000 people 11 miles north of Minneapolis.
It was not immediately known if anyone had been injured.
The F.A.A. said it did not know how many people were on the plane that seats a maximum of seven people, according to GlobalAir.com.
Footage from a Ring security camera appeared to show the plane nose-diving a short distance away. Videos from the scene also showed a large home engulfed in flames.
Emergency responders had not posted updates about the crash or the fire. Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota said on social media that his team was “monitoring the situation closely.”
This is a developing story.
