Rory McIlroy is on the precipice of history, with a career-defining accomplishment just 18 holes away.

After an eventful moving day at Augusta National Golf Club Saturday, one in which he fired a 6-under-par 66, McIlroy has a 2-stroke lead over Bryson DeChambeau heading into the final round of The Masters Sunday.

A green jacket would be the first of McIlroy’s career, a feat made that much sweeter by some of the heartbreak he has endured in the tournament over the years. Beyond that, a win at The Masters would complete the career grand slam for the 35 year old from Northern Ireland, who has won every major tournament except for The Masters.

When does Rory McIlroy tee off today?

McIlroy will tee off at 2:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, April 13 at Augusta National Golf Club in the final round of The Masters.

He’ll be part of a final-day pairing with Bryson DeChambeau, who trails him by two strokes entering the fourth round of competition. DeChambeau is also looking to win his first green jacket.

The two finished in first and second place at the 2024 U.S. Open, with DeChambeau edging McIlroy by one stroke at Pinehurst. 

The drama around the final pairing goes beyond recent results. The two served as faces of the PGA Tour-LIV Golf saga, with McIlroy standing as an outspoken advocate for the former while DeChambeau was perhaps the highest-profile figure to leave for the Saudi-backed latter.

McIlroy has 28 career wins on the PGA Tour, as well as 11 international wins. That total includes victories in four majors — the PGA Championship in 2012 and 2014, the U.S. Open in 2011 and The Open Championship in 2014.
