More than 35,000 people reported issues with social media platform Reddit around 3 p.m. EDT on Thursday afternoon, according to outage tracking site DownDetector.com.

Reports of outages on Reddit began to spike around 2:40 p.m. EDT, and quickly shot up to around 35,044 people at around 3:15 p.m. EDT.
Most of the issues, 47%, were reported with Reddit’s app, and 42% were with the website, while just 11% of reports were tied to server connection, according to DownDetector.
Reddit reposted a post on X from a Reddit Status account that said it was “currently investigating this issue,” and the account said at 3:48 p.m. EDT it had implemented a fix and was “monitoring the results.”
Reddit did not immediately respond to Forbes’ request for comment.

The outage came just days after Meta’s Facebook and Instagram faced unrelated outages. On Tuesday, thousands of users reported issues with Instagram’s comments and app, and nearly 1,000 people reported issues with Facebook.
