It started innocuously enough.
Timberwolves forward Naz Reid drove to the basket, and Pistons rookie Ron Holland took a hard whack at the ball and Reid’s arms as he went by.
The foul was called, but Reid wasn’t satisfied. He got in Holland’s face, and Holland didn’t back down.
Minnesota’s Donte Divincenzo came over in an apparent attempt at peacemaking, but instead, Holland wrapped up Divincenzo and brought him to the ground.
At that point, both teams rushed over to the baseline and shoved their ways into the crowd underneath the basket.
It appeared a couple players threw punches while team personnel tried to split them up.
Camera operators got an up close and personal view of this fight between the Pistons and Timberwolves, which spilled into the crowd. pic.twitter.com/i3mxNMDld5

Anytime the Pistons are involved in some post-play extracurriculars, it brings back memories of the 2004 nightmare in their home arena.
This didn’t rise to that level, thankfully, but it was still way too far for a play that didn’t look that deserving of the upset response to begin with.
