KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Severe storms moved through East Tennessee Thursday evening, bringing strong winds and heavy rain that caused damage to multiple areas.

As severe weather swept through the region, the storms prompted multiple tornado warnings in East Tennessee and South East Kentucky.

While much of the damage across East Tennessee was caused by wind, rain and hail, a possible tornado was reported in the area of Deer Lodge and Sunbright in Morgan County. That storm caused downed trees and powerlines, and even ripped the roofs off of some buildings. Along with the damage, the storm also left two people dead and three others injured in Morgan County.
