GREEN BAY (WLUK) — Texas edge rusher Barryn Sorrell attended the NFL Draft on Saturday at Lambeau Field and talk about great timing.
Sorrell was picked by the Green Bay Packers in the fourth round of the draft, and he was able to walk on stage, put on a Packers hat and greet his new fans.
Sorrell, the 124th overall pick, is 6-3, 256 pounds had a productive final season with the Longhorns as he played all 16 games and registered 44 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and six sacks.
Sorrell was an honorable mention All-Big 12 Conference selection in 2023 as he played all 14 games and recorded 37 tackles, 4.5 TFLs with four sacks.
In 2022, he was also honorable mention All-Big 12 as he played all 13 games and had 44 tackles and nine 9 TFLs.
Sorrell is durable as he played in every game in each of his last three seasons, and one scouting report said he could be a starter down the road.
Sorrell is the first defensive player picked by Green Bay after three offensive players were selected during the first three rounds.
