Round 4, Pick 119: Bengals select Barrett Carter, LB, Clemson

The Bengals made a surprising double-up at linebacker after aggressively going after Demetrius Knight Jr. in the second round. Carter will immediately fill a featured role on special teams and can help take over the third linebacker and core four special teamer role Akeem Davis-Gaither vacated as he went to Arizona in free agency.

The Bengals had higher grades on him than the fourth round and viewed this as value and for the fourth straight pick leaned into maturity, leadership and communication noting him as a captain, green dot and respected leader for the Tigers.
