IT IS TRULY A PARTY HERE IN THE FRENCH QUARTER. RIGHT NOW. WE’RE HERE ON BOURBON AND CANAL, AND AS YOU CAN SEE BEHIND ME, THERE ARE LARGE CROWDS OF PEOPLE HERE CELEBRATING SUPER BOWL WEEKEND. RIGHT NOW, YOU CAN SEE THOSE LARGE CROWDS OF PEOPLE. PEOPLE ARE HERE CELEBRATING, DRINKING AND JUST ENJOYING THE NIGHT. BOURBON STREET IS REALLY PACKED. THERE ARE SO MANY PEOPLE ON BOURBON STREET RIGHT NOW, IT’S ALMOST HARD TO WALK ON BOURBON STREET BECAUSE IT IS SO TIGHT AND THERE ARE SO MANY PEOPLE, AND THERE IS ALSO A HUGE LAW ENFORCEMENT PRESENCE HERE. AND FANS SAY THEY FEEL EXTREMELY SAFE, EVEN IN ALL OF THESE LARGE CROWDS THAT YOU SEE, BECAUSE I WAS KIND OF CONCERNED ABOUT IT BECAUSE OF THE INCIDENT THAT JUST HAPPENED IN JANUARY. BUT NOW THAT I’VE SEEN THIS, I, WE WIND UP STAYING EVEN MORE LONGER. BUT WE HAVE HAD SUCH AN AMAZING TIME WITH PEOPLE FROM ALL OVER THE COUNTRY THAT WE’VE MET TODAY. SO IT’S JUST BEEN SUCH A SENSE OF CAMARADERIE AMONGST EVERYBODY. AND THERE ARE SEVERAL STREET CLOSURES DOWNTOWN, SO IF YOU ARE HEADING OUT TONIGHT TO PARTY WITH ALL THE FANS AND VISITORS AND RESIDENTS THAT ARE OUTSIDE TONIGHT, MAKE SURE YOU GIVE YOURSELF SOME EXTRA TIME AND CHECK WDSU.COM FOR ALL OF THOSE STREET CLOSURES. Three players competing in the Super Bowl are also celebrating their birthdays Sunday. The Philadelphia Eagles have two players with birthdays. Those players are star running back Saquon Barkley and cornerback Cooper DeJean. On the Kansas City Chiefs, linebacker Jack Cochrane is celebrating his special day, hoping for a three-peat Super Bowl win.Both teams posted special birthday messages ahead of the game. The game begins at 5:30 p.m.
