Monday night Orioles game thread: vs. Yankees, 6:35

I wrote in the series preview that the Yankees won more games yesterday than the Orioles have won since Easter. On the bright side, Baltimore will only need nine innings to win more games than New York today.

Tomoyuki Sugano will take the mound as the Orioles look to get back on track against the first-place Yankees. Cedric Mullins and Adley Rutschman will both return to the lineup, but Jordan Westburg will remain sidelined with a hamstring issue. The O’s have not placed Westburg on the injured list.

Ramón Laureano is back in the lineup with Tyler O’Neill sidelined with a bad neck. Laureano will join Mullins and Heston Kjerstad in the outfield. Ryan Mountcastle will play first, and Ryan O’Hearn will take the DH spot.

Jackson Holliday will play second base with Gunnar Henderson at short. Ramón Urías will begin the game at the hot corner, and Rutschman will catch Sugano.

The Orioles slumping offense will look to break out against RHP Will Warren. Meanwhile, Sugano will look to keep Aaron Judge, Trent Grisham, and Jazz Chisholm Jr. in the ballpark. That trio has combined for 22 homers on the season. The Orioles have 33 as a team.
