ATLANTA — The Milwaukee Bucks traded Patrick Baldwin Jr.to San Antonio on Thursday, the Journal Sentinel learned. The Bucks also sent cash to the Spurs to take on Baldwin’s contract, which gives the Bucks an open roster spot. Baldwin Jr. was briefly part of the franchise after being part of the deal that brought Kyle Kuzma to Milwaukee and sent Khris Middleton to Washington.
Baldwin, a University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee alumnus, was the No. 28 pick in the 2022 draft by Golden State. He played one season for the Warriors before being traded to the Wizards. He appeared in only 22 games this season.
Baldwin has appeared in 91 career NBA games, shooting 36.6% from behind the three-point line.
Following the agreement of the Middleton deal, a league source familiar with the Bucks’ thinking told the Journal Sentinel that there was never an intention for Milwaukee to keep the Sussex Hamilton High School alumnus on the roster.
