Data-center leases have been a hot topic on Wall Street, following reports that Microsoft and Amazon have adjusted data-center leases.

CEO Satya Nadella addressed the topic in response to the first analyst question on Microsoft’s earnings call. “The reality is we’ve always been making adjustments to build leases,” he said.

The company is watching demand curves, monitoring power needs and also paying attention to locations so it’s not all-in on one area.
