The Dallas Mavericks (37-39) host the Atlanta Hawks (36-39) Wedesday night at home in the American Airlines Center. Dallas is coming off a rather inexplicable loss to the Brooklyn Nets where the team collectively lost their minds just long enough to fall to an openly tanking team. The Hawks meanwhile have already punched their ticket to the NBA Play-In tournament and dont’t have much to play for at all. That resulted in the Hawks getting swatted by the Portland Trailblazers at home on Tuesday night. Yes, that means Atlanta is playing on the back end of a back-to-back. Here’s the things you need to know:
- WHO: Dallas Mavericks vs Atlanta Hawks
- WHAT: Another attempt to get closer to .500
- WHERE: American Airlines Center, Dallas, Texas
- WHEN: 7:30 pm CST
- HOW: KFAA, MavsTV, and Playback with Kirk and David
The injury report is much the same as against the Brooklyn Nets: Kyrie Irving, Dante Exum, and Olivier-Maxence Prosper are all out. Dereck Lively is listed as questionable! Anthony Davis and Caleb Martin are listed as probable. Daniel Gafford isn’t on the report at all! The Hawks are missing a lot of guys: Kobe Bufkin, Clint Capela, Jalen Johnson, and Larry Nance Jr. all won’t suit up for Atlanta.
This is another game Dallas should win. Alas, I said that Monday and they lost. Atlanta is struggling because they aren’t good, it’s the second night of a back-to-back, and because they have little to play for other than pride.
As you can tell below, you can join me and some other Mavs Moneyball guys in a room on Playback (embedded below) during the game (though I may not be able to start it until halftime). Also, consider joining Josh and I on Pod Maverick live after the game on YouTube, we should start after the game. Thanks so much for spending time with us here at Mavs Moneyball. Let’s go Mavs!
