Well, that was unexpected. The Masked Singer on Wednesday wrapped the Season 13 semifinals with a jaw-dropping — actually, make that beak-dropping — reveal.

That’s right, feathered friends and frenemies, we finally know the identity of the show’s duckbilled detective.

After the viewers sent Pearl and Mad Scientist Monster through to next week’s finale, Coral and Boogie Woogie were left to battle for the last remaining spot in an epic smackdown set to the tune of two early 2000s throwback jams (KT Tunstall’s “Suddenly I See” and Jet’s “Are You Gonna Be My Girl”).

But the results of that battle became totally irrelevant when Lucky Duck stormed the stage… with the Ding Dong Keep It On Bell!

“I’ve been breaking into this competition all season long, and I’ve decided to dust off this old lucky bell, because tonight… both of you are safe!” he revealed. But he wasn’t done!

“The biggest surprise of all isn’t that they’re not unmasking,” he quacked. “It’s that I am!”

After dropping a few more clues about himself, including that he spends most of his time on major movie sets, Lucky Duck revealed himself to be… actor and filmmaker Taika Waititi (aka Rita Ora’s husband)!
