March Madness: SEC men’s basketball tournament bracket, Thursday results, schedule

Texas men’s basketball and Texas A&M basketball are set to clash at the SEC tournament this week in Nashville, Tenn.

All SEC teams get to participate in the single-elimination tournament that began Wednesday and ends Sunday at Bridgestone Arena. This is the last push of games before the NCAA Tournament begins and the official bracket is announced that same day.

Texas, the No. 13 seed, played on the tournament’s opening day against Vanderbilt, beating the Commodores after falling to them in the regular season. Texas A&M, the No. 5 seed, will now face it’s top rival Thursday for a chance to play Tennessee.

The Aggies and Longhorns split their two matchups this season, with the home team winning each time. They have not met in a conference tournament since 2011, when No. 2 Texas beat No. 3 Texas A&M in a Big 12 semifinal. Texas stayed in the Big 12 for another decade-plus and A&M moved to the SEC in 2012.
