March Madness 2025 live updates, score: First Four continues ahead of NCAA tournament

  • Addy Brown has a game-high 22 points for Iowa State with five rebounds and five assists. Audi Crooks has 15 points.
  • Ashley Chea leads Princeton with 15 points, but went scoreless in the third quarter. Fadima Tall is right behind her with 13 points.
  • Emily Ryan scores a twisting layup at the buzzer to give Iowa State a 52-47 lead as the third quarter ends. She scored five points during the Cyclones’ surge that put them back on top.
  • A fast-break layup by Dallas Hobbs and monster dunk by Dola Adebayo on a drive to the basket has boosted Mount St. Mary’s to a 17-point lead over American.

  • A layup by Dola Adebayo and 3-pointer from Malcolm Dread has restored Mount St. Mary’s lead over American to 64-51. The Mountaineers may have taken the Eagles’ best shot without flinching.
  • Iowa State went on an 8-0 run, sandwiched by a Parker Hill basket and two Olivia Hutcherson free throws. The Cyclones are down 42-37 at the 5:17 mark of the third quarter.
  • Elijah Stephens has scored five points for American to begin the second half. After 3-pointers from Greg Jones and Matt Mayock, the Eagles have cut the Mount St. Mary’s lead to 56-51 after the first timeout.
  • Princeton has not stopped since taking the lead in the second quarter. The Tigers are on a 12-0 run with eight points scored by Ashley Chea.
  • The second quarter has been all Princeton, which has outscored Iowa State 11-2. The Tigers took a 22-20 lead at the 5:47 mark on a jump shot from Olivia Hutcherson.
  • Mount St. Mary’s takes a 10-point lead into halftime with Dallas Hobbs hitting another 3-pointer just before the buzzer.
  • Hobbs has 15 points, shooting 4-of-7 on 3s. Jedy Cordilia leads the Mountaineers with 16 points.
  • For American, Geoff Sprouse has 12 points off the bench. He’s 4-of-6 on 3s. Matt Rogers had seven points before leaving the game with a knee injury.

  • Iowa State has maintained its strong shooting, while Princeton’s misses have them falling behind on the scoreboard.
  • The Cyclones have an 18-11 lead at the end of the first quarter. They’re shooting 50%, while the Tigers are hitting onlly 28% of their shots. Audi Crooks leads Iowa State with six points.
  • Mount St. Mary’s appeared to be pulling away, taking a 36-28 lead. But American has come back with 3-pointers by Geoff Sprouse and Jedy Cordilia.
  • Matt Rogers returned to play for the Eagles, but hurt his left knee again while twisting in the post. He went back to the locker room for the second time in this game.
  • Iowa State has an early 13-9 lead over Princeton, shooting 60% from the floor thus far. The Tigers are shooting 33%, but keeping pace with the Cyclones.
  • With 7:54 remaining in the first half, Mount St. Mary’s is leading American, 28-25.

  • In one of the women’s First Four matchups in the Birmingham 3 region, Princeton and Iowa St. will tip off in South Bend, Indiana.
  • The Tigers finished second in the Ivy League during the regular season at 12-2 (21-7 overall) and lost to Harvard in the conference tournament semifinals. Three Ivy League teams qualified for the NCAA tournament.
  • Iowa State was seventh in the Big 12 at 12-6 (22-11 overall). The Cyclones lost in the conference tournament semifinals to Baylor. Seven Big 12 teams received NCAA bids.
  • The winner will face Michigan (22-10) in a first-round matchup in South Bend on Friday.
