Manchester United have added two youngsters to our Europa League squad for the home game against Real Sociedad.
The Reds have tweaked the UEFA B list ahead of the deadline for Thursday’s round-of-16 second leg at Old Trafford.
The tie, finely poised at 1-1 following the first leg, kicks off at 20:00 GMT.
James Scanlon is in contention for a place in the matchday squad.
Tyler Fredricson and James Scanlon are the two names introduced, as they will hope to make the matchday squad for what promises to be a big occasion under the lights at the Theatre of Dreams.
Centre-back Fredricson captained our Under-19s in the UEFA Youth League and was an unused substitute for the Premier League contest at Tottenham Hotspur last month.
Scanlon is a full international for Gibraltar but has yet to be involved in a senior match for the Reds. The 18-year-old wide forward has helped Adam Lawrence’s side continue our run in the FA Youth Cup this term, scoring twice in the 5-1 fifth-round win over Chelsea.
Chido Obi trained with the group at Carrington on Wednesday but cannot be added to the B list as he has not yet been at the club for a minimum of two years.
Elyh Harrison, Harry Amass, Habeeb Ogunneye, Jack Fletcher and Jayce Fitzgerald are all eligible for the competition.
Tickets are still available for all United fans to purchase as we look to progress to the quarter-finals.
