Maine falls to Penn State in NCAA Regional opening round

ALLENTOWN, Pa. (WABI) – Maine’s season came to an end with a 5-1 loss to Penn State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Maine started the scoring with Bodie Nobes finding the twine, but Penn State controlled the rest of the first period.

The Nittany Lions carried a 3-1 lead into the first intermission with goals from JJ Wiebusch, Matt Dimarsico, and Dane Dowiak.

Penn State made it a 4-1 game in the second period with Dimarsico’s second goal of the night.

Dowiak added an empty netter for the final 5-1 score.
