It was breathtakingly simple for Newcastle. Kieran Trippier pinged in the corner, driven high and quite deep away from goal.

Looking for the head of none other than Dan Burn, the 6ft 7ins giant from Blyth who touches nearly two metres tall.

Burn has been the only target for Newcastle’s corners, and has met almost everyone one with his head against much smaller marker Alexis Mac Allister. Konate and Van Dijk are being used zonally inside the six-yard box.

But that leaves Burn almost guaranteed to win the headers! He did, and it was a perfectly placed stooping header right into the bottom-left corner, past a diving Kelleher, who might have been unsighted.
