March Madness has officially ensued!
With many games underway, it’s a battle of the Bulldogs Thursday afternoon in Wichita. The No. 8 seed Gonzaga Bulldogs face off against the Georgia Bulldogs in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
The Gonzaga Bulldogs men’s basketball team concluded the 2024-25 regular season with a 25-8 overall record and a 14-4 mark in WCC play, securing second place in the conference standings. Gonzaga, despite facing challenges, including a lower-than-usual “luck rating” as per KenPom metrics, demonstrated resilience and depth throughout the season. Their strong performance has earned them a spot in the upcoming NCAA Tournament, marking their 26th consecutive appearance under head coach Mark Few.
The Georgia Bulldogs men’s basketball team finished the 2024-25 regular season with a 20-12 overall record and an 8-10 mark in SEC play, placing ninth in the conference. Despite the team’s early exit from the SEC Tournament, the Bulldogs secured an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. In the first round, they will face the Gonzaga Bulldogs, who finished their season with a 25-8 record. The matchup sets up a compelling battle between two tournament-tested programs looking to make a deep run in this year’s March Madness Tournament.
The winner of Thursday’s game will play Houston, the No. 1 seed in the Midwest Region.
