The Dallas Stars scored twice in a 58-second span in the second period and Lakeville, Minn., native Jake Oettinger pitched a 33-save shutout as the Minnesota Wild fell 3-0 in Dallas on Monday night. The loss snapped Minnesota’s three-game winning streak.
After a scoreless first period, the Stars (45-21-4) broke the tie when Wyatt Johnson scored on the power play 15 minutes, 1 second into the second period. Just 58 seconds later, Matt Duchene scored again to make it a two-goal Dallas advantage.
The Wild (40-26-5) had some Grade-A scoring chances in the third period, including on the power play midway through the frame, but Oettinger turned away each shot.
