The 2025 Grammys were big for Lady Gaga. In addition to coming home a winner again, the superstar also performed, and she introduced a brand new single, though not in a traditional manner.
During one of the many commercial breaks throughout the nearly four-hour-long show, Gaga premiered her latest single. The official music video for “Abracadabra” aired as a commercial in what must be one of the more expensive launches for a dance-pop tune.
The singer had hinted that something exciting was on the way before the show, and rumors spread that a single was going to be announced at some point during the telecast. Gaga didn’t mention the tune herself at any point, instead letting the commercial she and her team paid for (okay, someone paid for) do the talking instead.
“Abracadabra” has become a quick hit on iTunes during what is often one of the busiest periods on the sales platform. The single currently appears at No. 7 on the list of the bestselling songs in the U.S., and it ranks as the loftiest debut on the tally.
The iTunes charts are currently inundated with rising smashes, which all gain ground following performances or wins at the 2025 Grammy Awards. As of the time of writing, “Beautiful Things” by Benson Boone leads the charge, as it’s back at No. 1. Several other tracks that were highlighted during the telecast, such as “Pink Pony Club” by Chappell Roan, “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” by Shaboozey, and Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” all recently soared into the top 10.
“Abracadabra” serves as the latest single from Gaga’s forthcoming album Mayhem. The set is expected to drop on March 7, and she’s already shared two tunes from the project, one of which won a trophy last night.
Mayhem was introduced with “Die with a Smile,” a duet with Bruno Mars. That smash currently leads the Hot 100, as its vintage vibes have made it a certified behemoth. Follow-up “Disease,” which leans far more into the dark dance-pop that first made her a star, wasn’t received nearly as warmly, though it performed well on some genre-specific charts.
“Die with a Smile” earned Gaga and Mars another Grammy just a few hours ago. The tune was named the champion in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category, which both artists have won before. Gaga now claims the record for the most of those prizes, with three. Mars sits in second place, alongside SZA, with two such Grammys.
