FOLLOWING ALL OF THIS WINTER WEATHER HAPPENING THROUGHOUT THE REST OF THE NIGHT. OF COURSE, THE STORM SYSTEM WE’RE FACING ALREADY CAUSING SERIOUS FLOODING IN SOUTHERN AND CENTRAL KENTUCKY. GOVERNOR ANDY BESHEAR ALREADY DECLARING A STATE OF EMERGENCY OVERNIGHT AHEAD OF THOSE STORMS. NOW FURTHER SOUTH, SOME PARTS OF TENNESSEE FACING LIFE THREATENING FLOODING. TONIGHT. THESE PHOTOS SHOWING FLOODING THAT FLOODING AND FLOODING STREETS THERE IN CLARKSVILLE. YOU CAN SEE THAT CAR HERE JUST COMPLETELY UNDERWATER. THIS IS IN COTTONWOOD. SOME ROADS NO LONGER DRIVABLE AS WATERS RISE. AND TO MAKE THINGS EVEN WORSE, DAMAGING WINDS ARE STRIKING THE STATE. SOME COMMUNITIES I

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear has requested an emergency disaster declaration for the state due to the severe weather and impacts across our state. Beshear says the declaration would make federal funding available to affected areas, to help officials better respond and support those affected. “I have also spoken directly to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, and the acting director of FEMA,” Beshear said in a post to X.The update comes after Beshear declared a state of emergency Friday ahead of the anticipated storms.Ohio Task Force 1 has been activated as a Type III team in response to heavy flooding in Kentucky and surrounding states.Officials report water is still rising in some areas and roadways across the Bluegrass state are experiencing severe flooding due to the heavy rainfall passing through the region.Water rescues have already been underway across the state.Beshear has posted that they have opened Jenny Wiley State Resort Park for evacuees that need it.
