Earlier this week, former University of Louisville basketball star and billionaire entrepreneur Junior Bridgeman died after suffering a medical emergency during a fundraiser at the Galt House Hotel in Louisville.
After his death came an outpouring of love from Louisville and the sports world, who remembered him not only as a legend on the court, but as a successful entrepreneur and generous philanthropist.
“Today we lost a legend and beloved member of the Louisville basketball family,” the U of L Athletics program said in a statement. “Junior Bridgeman leaves an unmatched legacy and we are forever grateful for the impact he’s made on our program, our university and our city. We send our deepest condolences to the Bridgeman family and all who loved him.”
