According to ESPN, the Michigan Wolverines head coach will serve a self-imposed two-game suspension due to the advanced sign-stealing scandal that occurred under the guidance of current Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh.
While this won’t impact Harbaugh since he is no longer under the NCAA’s purview as the Chargers’ head coach, his former offensive coordinator, Sherrone Moore, will have to deal with the consequences. Harbaugh and the current defensive coordinator, Jesse Minter, were part of the staff that was under intense scrutiny due to the sign-stealing scandal led by assistant Connor Stalions.
This occurred during the 2023 season when Harbaugh led the Wolverines to a national championship and left during the offseason to return to the NFL with the Chargers. Harbaugh’s alma mater will be without its head coach, Sheronne Moore, against Central Michigan and the Nebraska Cornhuskers in Weeks 3 and 4. The team will still have Moore for the season opener against New Mexico and the opening road game against the Oklahoma Sooners in Week 2. That’s pretty weak if you ask me.
As for the Chargers, it is full steam ahead under Harbaugh and company. The team will open up training camp in July, but a date has not been set yet. The team will begin the preseason against the Detroit Lions on Jul. 31 at 6 p.m. PT in Canton, Ohio.
