Sunrisers Hyderabad faltered once again with the bat, putting up a disappointing performance against Mumbai Indians at their home ground, the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Uppal. Batting first after losing the toss, Sunrisers managed to score just 143 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. That total was made possible only because of the vital contributions from Heinrich Klaasen and Abhinav Manohar in the middle order. If not for their effort, the team might have collapsed to a total below 100.
Mumbai Indians captain won the toss and opted to bowl first. Sunrisers’ innings got off to a disastrous start, losing five wickets for just 35 runs. Travis Head was dismissed for a duck, while Abhishek Sharma scored 8, Ishan Kishan 1, Nitish Kumar Reddy 2, and Aniket Verma managed 12 runs. At this point, Heinrich Klaasen and Abhinav Manohar stepped up to stabilize the innings and mounted a counterattack.
Heinrich Klaasen top-scored with a composed knock of 71 runs off 44 balls, which included 9 boundaries and 2 sixes. Abhinav Manohar supported him with a crucial 43 runs off 37 deliveries, hitting 2 fours and 3 sixes.
Among Mumbai’s bowlers, Trent Boult and Deepak Chahar led the charge. Boult claimed 4 wickets, while Chahar picked up 2. Jasprit Bumrah and captain Hardik Pandya took one wicket each.
