In Cade Cunningham’s debut at NBA All-Star weekend, the Pistons’ star started off looking like a rookie.
Cunningham got off to a slow start and couldn’t recover as he was eliminated in the first round of the 3-point contest at the 2025 NBA All-Star game on Saturday night in San Francisco.
Cunningham recorded a score of 16 on his 25 first-round shots. He made just two of his first 11 shots before an improved finish that saw him hit four of his five balls on his final rack, which were each worth two points.
But he was eliminated a few shooters later, as Buddy Hield, Darius Garland and Tyler Herro recorded the top three scores from the first round to advance to the finals.
Cunningham was one of eight players to participate in the competition.
Cunningham made his first NBA career All-Star game and the first for a Pistons player since 2019. He is averaging 25.4 points and 9.4 assists per game this season while shooting 35.1 percent from 3-point range.
