“I have been diagnosed with ALS,” he told People. “I am grateful to have my loving family by my side as we navigate this next chapter.”
“I feel fortunate that I am able to continue working and am looking forward to returning to set of Euphoria next week. I kindly ask that you give my family and I privacy during this time.”
Eric and his wife Rebecca Gayheart split back in 2018 after 14 years of marriage, but it was revealed just one month ago that they decided to call off the divorce. The couple is back together seven years after the split.
Just one day ago, Rebecca actually made some rare public comments on her relationship with Eric.
The couple shares two daughters, Billie, 15, and Georgia, 13.
There is no cure for ALS and while some patients can live for decades, most people usually live for three to five years after their diagnosis. The Mayo Clinic notes that ALS is “a nervous system disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. ALS causes loss of muscle control. The disease gets worse over time.”
