Donald Trump made history Sunday at Super Bowl LIX as he became the first sitting president to attend the big game in person, and it was apparently a very good night for him.
And it started early.
As Jon Batiste played the National Anthem, cameras panned up to Trump in his suite to show the president holding a salute. And the crowd appeared to cheer loudly when the president was shown. That caused a social media stir through the first half of the big game with many Trump supporters rushing to X to point out the cheers for the president.
Taylor Swift, on the other hand, appeared to get the opposite reaction when she was shown at the game.
TMZ showed video of Swift in her suite with Ice Spice when cameras panned to them inside the Superdome and the boos started raining down. Swift awkwardly looks at Ice Spice, and she seems to be confused on whether or not they were booing her. TMZ did note a controversial call happened on the field at the same time, but to most folks it certainly looked like the response was to Swift.
That would make some sense because, despite the fact she is a Pa. native, Eagles fans don’t play around, and there are reportedly more Eagles fans in the house in New Orleans than Chiefs fans for this one.
Trump did not miss the apparent hate for Swift, though, and he made sure to link it back to her opposition of him while taking a dig at her after the Super Bowl.
“The only one that had a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift,” he wrote on Truth Social. “She got BOOED out of the Stadium. MAGA is very unforgiving!”
At least Serena Williams took up for Swift on X writing, “I love you (Taylor Swift) don’t listen to those booo!!”
