Dan Bernstein out at 670 The Score after social media controversy

His departure comes after he got into a heated exchange with another user on X, resulting in him being off the air for a week, according to earlier reporting by the Chicago Sun-Times. On March 14, Bernstein posted a photo of himself holding a northern pike he caught, the publication reported. This prompted another X user to accuse him of killing the fish, to which Bernstein responded by saying it was “released successfully.”

The user than called Bernstein a liar, and the radio host pushing back by saying, “I never respond to trolls, but questioning my sportsmanship and conservation awareness sets me off. Wanna fight? I’m a bad enemy, [expletive],” the Sun-Times reported. Bernstein eventually threatened to dox the other user, saying “Want your kids involved?”

Even before today’s announcement, the exchange led to Bernstein’s removal from the board of directors of charity Camp One Step. The organization released a statement March 16 saying Bernstein “made comments on social media that don’t reflect our shared commitment to supporting children and their families.”

The incident was the latest controversy to involve Bernstein. He recently received backlash for how he handled his displeasure at being called by his last name by Eddie from Barstool Chicago. He also garnered backlash for referring to late Cubs Hall of Famer Ron Santo’s amputated legs as stumps.

Bernstein did not immediately respond to requests for comment Crain’s made Friday through his social media accounts.
