Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn have finally settled their long-running feud in the ring.
The sons of Chris Eubank Sr and Nigel Benn clashed at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, England, on Saturday night.
Chris Eubank and Conor Benn were supposed to square off in 2022 but their clash was canceled after Benn tested positive for a banned substance just days before the event.
Three years later, Eubank smashed an egg over his head during a fiery first press conference that set the scene for a pulsating 12-round middleweight contest, which ended with Benn suffering a unanimous decision defeat in the ‘Fight of the Year’.

Benn was on the front foot from the very start. ‘The Destroyer’ went headhunting for a quick finish, but he hit the air more than he hit his opponent during the first three minutes.
Over the next couple of rounds, Benn was able to land clean shots on Eubank’s chin as he seemingly established an early lead on the judge’s scorecards.
Eubank landed a beautiful uppercut in the fourth frame, which saw the two men trash-talking each other in the middle of the ring before the referee stepped in to warn them against punching on the break.
It was close and competitive through rounds five and six, but Eubank may have won both of them as he began to stamp his authority on the contest.
Eubank looked great in the seventh stanza. Benn needed to bounce back in round eight, and he did just that as his biggest fight to date descended into a slugfest.
It was more of the same as both men went for it in round nine. A cut opened up above Eubank’s right eye, but he responded by landing a massive punch to momentarily stagger his opponent.
Eubank looked spent in the tenth frame. It was the biggest round of the fight for Benn, who began to look like he might be able to force a stoppage.
The penultimate three minutes saw Eubank bite down on his gumshield and push Benn against the ropes where he was able to land big shots to work his way back into things.
All hell broke loose in the 12th round. Both men swung for the fences intent on finishing the fight, rather than leaving it to the officials at ringside.
They kept throwing to the final bell, which left fans wondering who had done enough to get the nod.
In the end, all three judges scored the enthralling fight 116-112 in favor of Eubank.
During his post-fight interview, Eubank expressed his shock at the level of his long-time rival.
“I knew I was capable of that. I just needed someone to bring it out of me,” he told Sky Sports. “I didn’t expect Conor to be the guy to do that. I didn’t know he had that in him, I thought I would break him early.
“I underestimated him, I didn’t prepare for a fight like that.”
Benn suggested that inactivity may have cost him after suffering the first defeat of his boxing career.
He reflected: @Maybe 14 months out of the ring didn’t help, so inactivity is the only thing.
“I’m not going to say I deserved to win it, I have to watch it back.
“Maybe I stayed on the ropes a bit too long. Chris is a good fighter.
“All the fighting talk is fighting talk. I’d love the rematch.”
