NEW YORK (PIX11) — Chipotle refuted rumors that it filed for bankruptcy after confusion spread online on Friday night.
A spokesperson for the chain restaurant confirmed to PIX11 News that the company has no plans to close locations despite reports that circulated online.
“The false information stemmed from an inaccurate online article confusing Chipotle with a venture it tested in 2023. The story has since been corrected,” the statement said.
Contrary to the rumors, Chipotle has plans to open more than 300 new restaurants across the country in 2025, including a Chipotlane for drive-thru digital order pick-ups.
