Chipotle is giving away $1 million in prizes for National Burrito Day

UNDATED (WKRC) – Chipotle Mexican Grill has brought back its nationwide online game to give away more than $1 million in free burritos ahead of National Burrito Day.

The company announced the return of its popular digital game, Burrito Vault, in celebration of National Burrito Day on April 3. The game offers Chipotle Rewards members in the U.S. and Canada the chance to win up to 157,500 BOGO free entrée codes.

Starting at 9 a.m. ET on Monday, members can access the game by visiting UnlockBurritoDay.com. Participants must guess the exact burrito order combination, ingredient by ingredient, to unlock the vault. The first 2,500 members who successfully crack the code each hour will receive a BOGO code.

“Last year, our Burrito Vault drove unprecedented fan engagement that resulted in our highest digital transaction day of all time,” said Chris Brandt, Chief Brand Officer. “Now, we are giving them another chance to crack the code and score more free burritos.”

The game will run from March 31 at 9 a.m. ET through April 2 at 11:59 p.m. ET. Players have four attempts each hour and can win one BOGO code during the campaign. New this year, the first player to unlock the vault each hour will win free burritos for a year.

Additionally, fans who unlock the vault after all BOGO codes have been redeemed will receive 25 rewards points in their Chipotle Rewards account, while available.

Inspired by the popularity of word puzzles, Burrito Vault was played more than two million times in 2024, with prizes claimed in under 20 minutes. This year, the winning code changes every hour to spread prize drops throughout the game.

On National Burrito Day, April 3, Chipotle said it is also offering a $0 delivery fee to all Chipotle Rewards members ordering via Chipotle.com and the Chipotle app with code DELIVER.
