CLEVELAND (WJW) – Cleveland Cavaliers shooting guard Donovan Mitchell has been selected as a starter in the NBA All-Star Game in San Francisco next month, the team confirmed Thursday night.
Mitchell has now been selected for the All-Star game six times in his career and twice as a starter.

Mitchell becomes the third Cavs player in franchise history to be selected as a starter multiple times.

So far this season, in 41 games, Mitchell is averaging a team-high 23.2 points, helping lead the Cavs to the best record in the Eastern Conference at 36-7, as of Thursday night.
He joins LeBron James, who will be playing in his 21st straight All-Star game, as well as other announced starters, including Jalen Brunson, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jayson Tatum, Karl-Anthony Towns Stephen Curry, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Kevin Durant and Nikola Jokic.
The All-Star game will take place at Chase Center on Sunday, Feb. 16 at 8 p.m.
