Carmelo Anthony heading into Hall of Fame on first ballot

Carmelo Anthony is a first ballot Hall of Famer, according to ESPN.

The former Knicks forward, 40, was notified that he’s been elected into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2025.

The 10-time NBA All-Star was one of 17 finalists announced by the Hall of Fame in February.

The full 2025 class is set to be revealed at the Men’s Final Four, taking place in San Antonio on Saturday.

Anthony played 19 NBA seasons — most prominently with the Denver Nuggets and Knicks — earning six All-NBA nods and three Olympic gold medals for Team USA.

Anthony was selected with the third overall pick by the Nuggets in the 2003 draft after he led Syracuse to its only NCAA championship that year as a freshman.

After winning bronze in Athens in 2004, followed by three straight gold medals during the 2008, 2012 and 2016 Olympic Games, Anthony became the most decorated male US Olympic basketball player ever.
