WASHINGTON — The Washington Capitals are back home from a three-game California road trip, and they aim to return with good habits as they host the Detroit Red Wings.

Here’s everything to know before puck drop at 7 p.m. ET at Capital One Arena.

The Capitals will keep the same combinations, as Logan Thompson will get the start for the second consecutive game with the goalie rotation coming to an end.

– Dylan Strome has scored in two of his last theee and has points in six of his last seven outings, as does Tom Wilson.

– Pierre-Luc Dubois has five points in his last three games.

– Alex Ovechkin scored career goal No. 887 back on Saturday and needs just eight more to break Wayne Gretzky’s all-time goals record.

– Trevor van Riemsdyk ended a 145-game goal drought last game and will look to remain offensively involved.

– Last game against Detroit, Washington got off to a slow start but rallied with a huge third for the win. Look for the Capitals to try and start on time.
