Calhoun County streets littered with debris after severe storm rolls through area

CALHOUN COUNTY, Mich. — Streets in Calhoun County are littered with debris after a severe storm rolled through the area late Sunday afternoon into the early evening. 

Severe thunderstorm and tornado warnings were triggered across West Michigan, which have since expired. 

According to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, a roof collapse and gas leak were reported in downtown Tekonsha. Main Street will be closed until further notice while emergency crews respond.

Officials urged the community to stay away from downed power lines and avoid unnecessary travel.
