Bulls vs Lakers injury report: Josh Giddey, Nikola Vucevic, Lonzo Ball, and more

It hasn’t been long since the Chicago Bulls last took on the Los Angeles Lakers. On March 22, the Bulls defeated the Lakers 146-115. Chicago’s 146 points were a season-high against Los Angeles. The Bulls also recorded a season-high 41 assists in the 31-point thumping.

En route to his second consecutive Eastern Conference Player of the Week honor, Coby White dropped 36 points, Matas Buzelis recorded a career-high of 31, and Josh Giddey nearly contributed a quadruple-double, totaling 15 points, 10 rebounds, 17 assists, and eight steals. Chicago’s victory against Los Angeles was arguably its most impressive and dominant win all season.

Chicago’s triumph came against a healthy Lakers team that saw the returns of LeBron James, Luka Doncic, and Rui Hachimura. While the former two will be in the lineup, Hachimura will miss yet another game with left patellar tendinopathy. The same injury kept him out of the lineup for 12 straight contests, ranging from late February to March 20.

A pair of Bulls’ guards remain on the mend; Three starters listed on the injury report

Aside from Hachimura’s absence, the Lakers will be in full force as they travel to the Windy City. The Bulls, on the other hand, will miss Lonzo Ball and Tre Jones. Ball has been for the entirety of March. Although he’s been deemed questionable, he recently said that he needs at least another week before he’s ready to return to action.

Prior to taking on the Lakers, Jones was diagnosed with a midfoot sprain, forcing the 6-foot-1 guard out of the lineup for the next two weeks. Jones has missed the Bulls’ last two contests, and likely won’t return until Chicago’s April 6 clash with the Charlotte Hornets.

Lastly, the Bulls’ injury report lists several starters, including Giddey, White, and Nikola Vucevic. White, listed as probable, should be good to go. However, there’s no certainty whether Giddey and Vooch will be in the lineup. For what it’s worth, the 6-foot-10 big man did participate in a contact workout in the morning.
