Boca Raton plane crash: You can’t get onto or off I-95 at Glades Road. Here are alternatives

Glades Road in Boca Raton and Interstate 95 connections to it closed Friday morning due to a small plane crash onto Military Trail near the Boca Raton Airport. South Florida’s publicly funded passenger train, Tri-Rail, is also diverting passengers.

The Florida Highway Patrol and rescue workers have blocked the stretch of Glades Road going over Interstate 95 — from Airport Road to Renaissance Way — preventing drivers from getting onto the highway, according to Florida 511, which maps closures.

Southbound I-95 drivers can’t exit at Glades Road. Northbound drivers can exit but only to go east on Glades.

Military Trail from Butts Road to Northwest 19th Street has been closed.

How to get to Boca Raton from I-95

Boca Raton-area drivers can use I-95’s Yamato Road or Palmetto Park Road connections, north and south of Glades Road, respectively, as alternates to the closed road.

Tri-Rail is offering a free shuttle connecting passengers between its Boca Raton station off Yamato Road and its Deerfield Beach station because the tracks between those stations have also been closed.

FHP has not yet said when roads will reopen.
