The Big Ten tournament carries massive March Madness implications on various levels. At the top of the bracket, Michigan State rides a dominant winning streak into the postseason with a shot at securing a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Further down the ladder, Ohio State finds itself squarely on the Big Dance bubble and needs a strong showing in Indianapolis to get onto the right side of the cut line. Seeding is on the line for a host of teams in between the Spartans and Buckeyes, too.

With Big Ten expansion comes a new format, and not every team will participate. The bottom three squads in the conference standings — Nebraska, Penn State and Washington — will watch from home as the rest of the league battles for an automatic March Madness berth.
