At least one student was shot at a Dallas high school on Tuesday, according to multiple media reports.
One male student was shot in the leg inside Wilmer-Hutchins High School in Dallas, according to KXAS and WFAA, citing police and rescue sources. Police have not confirmed the condition of the injured teen, whether more students are injured or whether any arrests were made.
Officers have finished securing the campus but were urging everyone to avoid going to the area, the Dallas Independent School District confirmed on X. The district said it will share reunification plans shortly.
Police responded to the shooting shortly after 1 p.m. local time, KDFW reported. Students were seen leaving the campus with heavy police presence and heading toward the nearby Wilmer-Hutchins Eagle Stadium.
