Ange explains Son’s absence for Wolves encounter

Heung-Min Son has been ruled out of this afternoon’s Premier League trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers due to a knock, Ange Postecoglou has revealed.

Our captain misses out as a precaution at Molineux due to an issue to his foot and Ange is taking no chances ahead of our crucial UEFA Europa League quarter-final, second leg at Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday night.

The South Korean star has featured in 43 of our 49 matches in all competitions this term – missing those previous six games through injury – and has seven goals and 10 assists in 28 top-flight appearances but should be available to take on the German side in four days time.

Speaking ahead of the fixture with Wolves, Ange said: “Sonny got a knock on his foot so we’re being a bit cautious with him.”

Our Head Coach was also quizzed on Wilson Odobert’s absence from the matchday squad, explaining its due to managing his minutes as he phases back in from a recent injury lay-off: “Wilson, we’re managing him at the moment,” he added. “Both should be available for Thursday.”
